Match Result: Headstone Manor U10s vs Eastcote

Huge congratulations to the boys on a thrilling 14-run victory today against a very strong Eastcote side!

The Batting:
We were put in to bat first in this 15-over match and faced some excellent bowling. The opening pair started well - playing sensibly, taking quick singles, and putting away some of the bad balls. The middle pairs showed fantastic discipline to protect their wickets against some genuinely great deliveries, and we even celebrated a first-ever U10s boundary for one of the players! Our final pair then provided a supercharged finish, smashing an incredible 40 runs in the last 3 overs to set a very competitive total.

The Bowling & Fielding:
Eastcote chased hard and kept it neck-and-neck, but our boys held their nerve. We took wickets at regular intervals to stall their momentum, grabbing crucial wickets in the middle overs, holding onto fantastic catches, and executing some brilliant team run-outs. When their best batters arrived at the very end, the team stepped up massively: we took two huge wickets in two overs and bowled a brilliantly economical final spell to completely seal the game.

Division Standings Update:
This incredible win officially puts us at the TOP OF THE TABLE!

With 3 games remaining, the maths is looking very friendly for us. Half the division is already mathematically eliminated from catching us. To keep it simple: if we win 2 of our last 3 games, we are guaranteed to win the division title outright! Even washouts/rain from here on out work entirely in our favor.
